The Union Leader sides with Governor John Lynch’s statement expressing caution about the latest casino gambling proposal.

Gov. John Lynch showed last week that he’s not being fooled by the wily ways of the pro-gambling movement. Speaking at the Greater Concord Chamber of Commerce, the governor came out against the idea that New Hampshire should have a “pilot program” to test casino gambling.

“It’s not possible,” he said. That’s because once a casino is built, there is no unbuilding it. Politically, that just wouldn’t happen, as the governor understands. Casino gambling is either here or it isn’t. Once here, it will never go away.
