Crowd protests LLC tax

In a lengthy Concord Monitor article, Shira Schoenberg does her best to capture the hours of protests heard yesterday at a Department of Revenue Administration rules hearings set up to administer the new tax on LLC’s.
Business owners and politicians called the tax an income tax that would drive small businesses out of business or out of state.
“In these new rules, you didn’t consider all the sacrifices we as small-business owners endured to get where we are today,” said Andy Sanborn, owner of The Draft in Concord, who received a standing ovation. “The years we’ve spent making no money, sleeping on the floor of our shops, eating lots of ramen noodles because that’s all we could afford. Frankly, it appears that you’re intending to punish the American dream.”
Tom Fahey also has a great article on the front page of the Union Leader, but I haven’t found it online this morning. But, John DiStaso is back online.
