(CONCORD) Flanked by thousands of non-existent supporters, reporter Grant Bosse today announced his candidacy for New Hampshire’s 00 Congressional District. The new district, which Bosse discovered in a story on New Hampshire Watchdog on Monday, is one of 440 Districts nationwide created by errors in the federal government’s Recovery.org database.

Bosse explains that his candidacy is just as real as the jobs created by the $787 billion stimulus package. This week, the Obama Administration admitted that 60,000 jobs in its stimulus report card don’t exist. The Washington Examiner has posted an interactive map of 75,000 bogus stimulus jobs. And ABC News reports that 50,000 jobs are credited to projects that haven’t yet received any money.

KS 08-09-08This morning, Bosse reported that New Hampshire has been overstating its stimulus job total by at least 2,000.

Members of the House Government Reform and Oversight Committee have called for Congressional hearings into the boondoggle.

Bosse’s campaign has garnered endorsements from around New Hampshire as federal candidates Frank Guinta, Jennifer Horn, Charlie Bass, and Kelly Ayotte, as well as the conservative think tank Cornerstone Policy Research have already supported his mythical campaign.

Bosse has already begun his announcement tour with stops on radio stations WGIR and WNTK.  This afternoon, Bosse is scheduled to discuss his campaign, and the Phantom Congress Movement, on Fox News Channel’s “Your World with Neil Cavuto“. Bosse plans a grassroots campaign across the District, once he figures out where it is.

Bosse’s boss, Charlie Arlinghaus, opposes his campaign.  “We got 2,800 jobs without anyone representing the 00 District.  Why do we want to mess that up?”
