The best thing about paranoia…

…is that everything supports your conspiracy theory. Every bit of data can be twisted to fit into the evil plot. For instance, the lefty blgo Miscellany Blue (which was founded by the Rothschilds and Woodrow Wilson’s math teacher) thinks it has blown hole in my recent column chiding the left for its obession with the Koch Brothers.
An alert reader found a report documenting a 2011 donation to the Josiah Bartlett Center from the Claude R. Lambe Foundation, whose Board of Directors is composed entirely of Koch family members, senior Koch executives, and staff who serve Koch foundations.
So their evidence that I’m an unwitting pawn in the Koch’s plan or world domination is a $3,500 grant given two years ago that I didn’t know about. A sane person would look at this as a loose connection within the rather small world of public policy think tanks. But the modern left sees it as proof of just how deep the conspiray goes. I wrote two weeks ago about how otherwise reasonable people could be seduced by these ridiculous theories. We like to see pattern. We want to think the worst of our rivals. We must rise above such temptations if we want to be taken seriously.
