One hundred years ago today, a pair of Jewish immigrants from Austria-Hungry welcomed the birth of a son in Brooklyn. They named him Milton.

Milton Friedman went on to enrich the world through his ideas, which helped generate unaccounted freedom, prosperity, and equal opportunity around the globe. It is a mark of the man’s greatness that his ideas continue to enrich us today, as they inspire us to work to improve our lives and the lives of other through the power of freedom.

A society that aims for equality before liberty will end up with neither equality nor liberty.
